When Can I Start!

Hi everyone, my name is Alejandro Ramos and I am an intern this summer at the legendary Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). Coming from the small town of Manteca, California, exploring the Rockies has always been a dream.

Growing up, I was very lucky to have two amazing parents who nurtured and inspired my love for nature and the outdoors. Both of my parents are from Mexico; my mom is from San Juan, Zacatecas, and my dad is from Juchitlan, Jalisco. Ever since I can I remember, my parents would take my siblings and me on family camping and fishing trips. As a result I became hooked on the outdoors and now, 15 years later, I regularly participate in fishing tournaments and go on camping trips all over California. Being a strong believer in conservation, when I began learning about the red abalone and bear poaching problems in California I felt the need to pursue a career as a Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement officer. I am currently a full-time student working on my B.S. in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation, with an A.D. in Criminal Justice. I’m really looking forward to spreading the message of conservation to visitors at RMNP, and learning more about Colorado’s ecosystem. When can I start!
