This week flew by! The other LHIP intern at the Intermountain Regional Office, Jenn, and I helped unload the supplies from the Get Outdoors Colorado Day. We helped clean, inventory, and organize all of the supplies and put them into the the storage unit. I made progress on editing and updating the Legislative Affairs Summary tracking sheet, and took several online trainings on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). FOIA was established in 1967 and gives the public a right to access government documents. There are nine exemptions, though, for information that does not need to be released in response to a FOIA request. These exemptions include things like information that protects national security and certain law enforcement records.
