While many of the other fellow LHIP interns get a view of the great outdoors, I get a nice view of the city in Downtown Atlanta! As much as I love being outside, I always found myself to be more of a city gal! I will be working with the Community Engagement department this summer in the Southeast Office. My position is about researching any Hispanic/Latin@ heritage programs that are in our region’s parks as well as developing a toolkit for all Southeast national parks to use for implementing their own heritage program at their park! I will also be a support system for other LHIP interns in the Southeast parks along with assisting with Latino Conservation Week with my roommate and other LHIP intern, Branca Sanchez. This first week is slow but I am getting used to the city and the office! Until next time! Adios!
