12 Sep The End is not The End.
This summer has been the best summer I have ever had. Not only did I get to live in a beautiful, wild place but I have also learned a ton about nature and animals. When I first came to Point Reyes National Seashore I was frightened. It really took me by surprise because I did not know what to expect! What I found were 1,000s of friendly cows, acres of wildflowers and grasslands, sand dunes, beautiful secluded rocky beaches, and wild animals! This remote, damp, and foggy place has become paradise to me. And guess what! I don’t have to leave it yet. I am staying here for another six weeks and working as a park ranger. I am so excited and eager to take on this new role. Every day I continue to learn something new and yet everyday I go home with a handful of questions that I need to find the answers to. If it weren’t for EFTA and the LHIP I would not have been a part of this amazing experience. Which is why I am ever so grateful! After my Point Reyes experience I am going to take the GRE and apply to grad school. My dream schools are University California of Los Angeles and University of California, Berkeley. After obtaining my degree I want to come back to the NPS and hopefully work in natural resource management. I want to keep talking wildlife and nature and work with amazing passionate people!! Thank you!!!
