30 May Stephen Sanders Introduction
My name is Stephen, and I hail from a town called Grants, New Mexico! I was born and raised in Grant and currently attend college at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. This coming fall, I will be a senior pursuing my Bachelors in Environmental Science along with a minor in economics. Aside from my passion for Earth and Planetary Science, I also enjoy sports, playing video games, punk music, and nerdy board games!
Thus summer, the Latino Heritage Internship Program is taking me to Tonto National Monument in Roosevelt Arizona, where I will be creating soundscapes of the local wildlife. I will also be collaborating with monument staff to assist in the collection of weather and air data. This opportunity stood out to me the second I saw it, and I cannot express how excited I am to get started, I simply cant wait to meet the rest of the staff at the monument, and to learn more about the centuries old cliff dwellings it protects!
