25 Jul OUT OF OFFICE

These past weeks have flown by. I worked on a few different tasks, including blogs, social media, internship projects, and even visited Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

It has been the busiest couple of weeks since I arrived. Thankfully amid all the work, I was able to explore and get out of the office. I was lucky enough to visit Bodie Island Lighthouse located on Cape Hatteras National Seashore. I spent the day with the interpretation team and staff. I got to climb the lighthouse, went off-roading on the beach, and checked out a shipwreck! It was an adventure I didn’t know I needed. And although this was a different site, everyone was so inviting. I felt like I had been there the whole summer.

By now, I have met quite a few rangers and I have noticed they have all been so kind. A positive and safe work environment makes a job ten times more appealing. And if kindness is a standard, then sign me up! Next week I will be shadowing the cultural resources manager. Stay tuned!
