27 Jun New Inspirations Unlocked
My summer job at Mount Rushmore National Memorial has been a great source of inspiration for me. I have found that working here has unlocked new aspects of my creativity, mental clarity, and physical health. As an artist, I know creative blocks can be frustrating, and coming to South Dakota has been a refreshing change of scenery. I have visited many national parks during my internship, and the beautiful landscapes have given me new ideas for my art. As a result, I am now creating national parks and plan to continue painting to express all my experiences here. My mental health feels at peace knowing I’m learning new things. It challenges me to find ways to have different tasks and complete them in a timely manner. It also provides a fresh perspective on life and work balance that some people don’t have until they finish college. I am excited to graduate next year and implement everything I learned during my internship. I will put it to use in the real world once I begin my future career. My physical health has become very important to me. Being active is a daily routine I learned. Hiking and walking are two things I didn’t do at home. I realized that physical activity is necessary to improve one’s health and mental strength. Whenever I’m working in my office and feel like I’ve had too much computer time, I take a walk around the memorial to catch fresh air, socialize and help. It has also helped me realize that being busy and working outdoors is the best way to keep your mind occupied and ready for any task that needs to get done. Overall, Mount Rushmore National Memorial has helped me learn so many things about myself that I never thought I could do. Thanks to this internship, I have found inspiration because of this park.
