My First Week in San Francisco

This week was my first week, and I only did a half-week since I started late. It has been an amazing, exciting, and tiring week. My first couple of days I got to meet everyone at the office. They have all been so nice and great, the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail (JUBA) team which includes my supervisor; they’ve been absolutely amazing and so helpful. I have been getting familiar with the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail and the journey taken. Not only have I learned about the trail itself but I have also learned about the National Park Service and their work. They have so much to offer, and do so much more than just at parks. Apart from being in the office this week, my other two days I have spent in Presidio Park, participating in the commemoration of the Anza Trail. I loved this event. Friday we had a kid’s event at the park and our table helped kids do paper flowers, which they absolutely loved. Saturday we also participated in the honoring of the descendants of the Anza expedition in Presidio Park. Throughout these past few days I have met many people who are passionate about the work being done on the trail. Meeting so many people interested in the work of the JUBA team has made me even more excited about my project, and has made me want to learn as much as possible.
