16 Aug Moonlight Paddle
This week marks the end of our two week long summer camps. The camps were a total success with happy campers and counselors. The beautifully orchestrated management could not have been done without the help of coercive group of staff and the gracious leader Cathy Peterson. Favorites of the week included water activities, delicious meals, and fun learning stations. One of the stations I led was common wilderness problems, where I used tiny mandarins with counselors faces painted on to provide proper care for stings, open wounds, and sunburns. My overall favorite activity was one in which I went out for a full moonlit paddle on the lake with large bullfrogs croaking and mysterious carp flying off the water. It was a relaxing paddle that included wonderful conversations with fellow counselors and bullfrog hunting.
