This internship focuses on the development of communications guidance for the National Park Service to work with emerging influencers, bloggers, and tik tok videographers that visit National Parks in the Midwest Region. This public information officer (PIO) fellow would be duty stationed at the Midwest Regional Office (MWRO) in Omaha, Nebraska. The fellow will also work closely with the fellow at Mount Rushmore National Memorial (MORU) in South Dakota. This intern will travel to MORU to connect and support their colleague.  The fellow will also support parks in the Midwest region with ongoing communication needs such as review and development of news and press releases; review and development of social media content; and support for parks seeking to do proactive communication.  Finally, the fellow will support the communication needs of the 100th anniversary for Hopewell Culture National Historical Park (HOCU). HOCU was also recently designated a UNESCO world heritage site and could need other communication support in the summer of 2023.
