The internship is designed to document and develop an ArcGIS StoryMap and other interpretive materials regarding the history of Padre Island NS Division of Sea Turtle Science and Recovery’s successful collaboration in the bi-national (USA-MEXICO), multi-agency Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Restoration and Enhancement Program and restoration of threatened and endangered sea turtle species, which are shared resources between the two countries. The position requires literature and archival searches of historical documents, written and verbal interviews, photos, videos, and other media that will be digitized, if necessary, and incorporated into online educational programming. The intern will learn about the history and current operations of the bi-national program, centered around the role Padre Island NS has played, and continues to play, in the ongoing conservation efforts. The final product will be a professionally designed digital story map designed and published in ArcGIS StoryMap.
