26 Jul Hi, I’m Juliana
Hello fellow LHIP interns! I’m a little late to the party, I just completed my first week at the National Park Service’s Communication Office in Washington DC where I’ll be focusing on creating infographics and PR releases. Pardon me for my late introduction, I’m currently a 5th year at the University of California, Davis pursuing a degree in Global Communication. I just returned from Lund University in Sweden where I was studying abroad for a semester and now I’m ready to see what DC has in store for me! Originally from Oxnard, California, I grew up in a Mexican-American family with frequent visits to Channel Islands National Park and the Santa Monica Mountains. NPS has always been a constant part of my life, whether it was a summer camping trip or a weekend hike, my family has always liked to take advantage of our close proximity to the many scenic landscapes around us. I am especially excited about this internship because I’ll get the chance to stay true to my roots while sharing my love for NPS and gaining new work experience. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you better through blog posts and our conference in Colorado!
