28 May Hey Everyone!
Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Marte-Cruz, and I am 21 years old. Like Patricia Robello (who also works at Grand Teton), I also have the privilege to work as an intern at the Grand Teton Nation Park in Wyoming. So far, it has been pretty amazing being here…especially the view. It is so breath-taking to be able to wake up every morning to the mountains surrounding me. This summer I will be working at the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve doing interpretive programs such as Critter Chats and hikes to explore the Preserve, among other activities. A bit about myself. As I said before, I am 21 years old and am from Lawrence, Massachusetts, which is about 45 minutes from Boston. I went to Georgetown High School and graduated in 2012. I am currently a senior at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts studying Psychology as a major and Spanish as my minor. Ultimately my goal is to work for the F.B.I as a criminal psychologist (one can dream right?) I am super grateful for the opportunity that the Latino Heritage Program has given me because it has offered me an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try something new which I never thought I would be doing. I hope to learn many new and interesting things and skills from my supervisors and team and be able to bring that back home with me and share it with those around me.
