Hello! My name is Katrina Cossio, a lot of people call me Kat because they can not seem to remember my name, so Kat seems easier to people. I was excited when I got the email saying that I got the Latino Heritage Internship in Little Rock, Arkansas. I am really excited about it, because I love to try different cultures, even though it is in the same country. I have always been interested on going to the South and this is now my opportunity, especially when I found out it was going to be at the Little Rock Central High School Historic Site. Little Rock Central High was the first integrated school in the United States. That excites me because I am a history major and lately U.S. history has given me interest. So I am a bit nervous leaving California and going somewhere for 10 weeks, without knowing anyone, but I do like an adventure and am excited about working at the historic site. I believe I am the last to start the internship, so all I have to do now is wait to graduate, then I can leave for Arkansas!
