16 Jun Getting Ready
Hi, my name is Sebastian. I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, where I studied Geology and Geophysics. I am getting my car ready for next week’s drive to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. I had a similar position last summer through American Conservation Experience as a Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) crew leader at Zion National Park. The position was as exciting as it can get. I engaged in various conversations with interesting people from all around the world, hiked at wonderful geologically significant areas like the Narrows and, most importantly, gained experience. Every time I’ve been to a national park, it’s been a wonderful time, because it allowed me to have the opportunity to see nature at its finest. I’ll be working as a YCC Vegetation Field Crew Assistant Intern at Grand Canyon National Park.
