GAKLHÉ LLAKO! INTRODUCTION – BRIAN MECINAS

Gaklhé Llako! Welcome to my blog for the Latino Heritage Internship Program! My name is Brian Mecinas, I’m a first-generation student pursuing a B.A. in Sustainability at Arizona State University, in addition to minors in Political Science, Urban Planning, and a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership.

Coming from a family of Zapotecs from Oaxaca, Mexico, I was raised with a deep respect for the environment that provides for and sustains us. This summer, I’ll be working at the Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site in Brookline, MA as a Visual Media Intern. I’m looking forward to creating videos that will share stories of the work the Olmsted landscape architecture firm did across the country and with the National Parks Service!
