10 Jun First two weeks at the jazz national historical park in new orleans – Manuel Santos
My first two weeks at the park have been fun and interesting. Last week we got to film the Grammy-nominated Mardi Gras Indian funk band “Cha Wa” play a set at the park’s stage. It was a great experience to see the film crew work the sound and cameras during the shoot and I got to check out the multi-camera controller that they use in the office to zoom, pan, and cut to the different cameras around the stage. The video should be out by the end of June and I’ll make sure to share that once it’s edited and out; I’ve also been working on a new logo for the park which I am excited to unveil soon. Working the desk at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve French Quarter Visitor Center has been fun since I get to learn more about the history of the city from the other park rangers as well as interact with people visiting the city for the first time and tell them about my great experience here. Looking forward to the weeks to come!
