e hōʻuluʻulu ana i koʻu manawa Haleakala (Summarizing my time in Haleakala)

My time here at Haleakala has been expansive to say the least. I have learned so much about geology, birds, the ocean, culture,  Hawaiian language, working with other people and figuring out more on myself. I have given numerous interpretation programs on topics which I never thought I would. My mindset from the first week to now has changed drastically. I feel like a new person and feel like I can handle so much more than I thought I could professionally. Every day I feel like I’ve been honing in my skills and processing more information and knowledge from each person I talk to. I feel embraced, supported and comfortable here. I actually ended up getting a job offer to work in our other district, Kipahulu. I’m not sure due to logistic reasons if I’ll be able to take it, but I’m very proud of myself for making an impact on the park and I’m so grateful for the crew I’ve been able to work with. They have made the transition seamless and we’ve encouraged each other the whole way through the season. I will take this experience with me in my personal life, career development and in my memories. Thank you so much to the Interpretation crew here at Haleakala, and thank you so much to LHIP for this experience.
