Cross Training Week

Hello!

This past week has been a busy week! I got the opportunity to do more than just the camp curriculum. To start, on Monday I enjoyed one of our many weekly programs and that was our Yoga Hike. We went on about a mile and half hike, and stopped along the way and did some yoga poses. Later that day, I assisted the Biological Science Technician with pulling invasive plants out of our meadows. This ended up being a tedious task because the plants were small and already had seeds that were ready to fall and disperse. I helped her with this task multiple times during the week.

For the 4th of July, I got to work at an offsite event in a town nearby, Woodland Park, and advertise the monument among many local businesses in the area. It was a great experience to be able to do outreach, and very surprising to hear the number of people who have never heard of the Florissant Fossil Beds. On my lunch break, I was able to walk around and purchase local goods, and talk to other businesses. I did a similar event on Friday, where I went to the Farmers Market in Woodland Park and had a similar experience.

Outside of those fun events, I was able to use my time to clean and disinfect my work space. I continue to stock and get camp activities ready for the camp when they come back. Thanks for reading.
