Santa Monica Mountains National Park Service employee, Jonathan Huerta, led a CPR and First Aid Certification Training. This was my second time being certified; the first time was several years ago while I worked for the Los Altos YMCA. The amount of information we learned today was immense! We covered everything from bee stings and burns to amputated limbs. I am definitely glad I got to join in on this class, because it refreshed my memory on what to do in an emergency situation. I learned so much more than my first certification course. I now feel better prepared in case I have to perform CPR or assist an injured person. CPR is different when performing on an adult, child or infant. I would strongly recommend everyone take a CPR certification course if they have not already.
