The boat building at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park’s Small Boat Shop continues.
The yawl boat we are building has been moved out of the boat shop and out onto the peer, where we have to brace the for the breeze steadily blowing in through the funnel created by the opening of the bay that the Golden Gate Bridge spans and the throng of visitors who stop by on the pier. But I really can’t complain, because I get a great view and get to practice my public speaking 🙂
The pressure is on, though. The park has already announced via a media release that we’ll be launching the boat at this year’s Festival of the Sea on August 19th.
