24 Jun Arizona, Here We Come!
Here we are! After a hectic Final’s week, last good-byes and see you laters, and of course commencement, we finally arrived in Arizona. As I type, I settle into what will be my home for the next several weeks. Coronado National Monument is quite a gem! Its rosy mountains overlooking you as you drive in, the tall grasses and saguaro cacti looking to the sky for just a few drops of rainwater, and the coziest visitor center overlooking the border. My trip began early in the morning as my alarm and friends called me at 2:00 AM to make sure I was awake.
Accompanied only by a playlist from a friend, snacks, and my backpack full of clothes, I looked forward to my drive of over five hundred and thirty (530) miles, wrapping around the southwest of the United States to reach my home-to-be. As I arrived, I learned that the closest town to do my grocery shopping is at least 30 minutes away. I will have to learn how to accommodate to this, especially sinceĀ it is my first time living out of my house. Though I graduated just two days ago, to me it feels as if I am just going off to college. I can only wait now to see what this opportunity awaits as I begin my duties!
