Arboles Grandes

As part of my internship, I have developed two different programs, A Big Tree Talk and a Giant Tree Walk. Translating these to Spanish was actually more challenging than I thought! There are lots of “nature words” that I don’t typically use, so I had to look up tons of specific words. For example, I didn’t know the words for sapling (plantula) or waterfalls (cascadas). It’s made me rethink how fluent in Spanish that I actually am haha. It’s definitely been a challenge, but I’ve improved my Spanish vocabulary for the better. Now I can talk about all the cool nature stuff when my parents come to visit! I look forward to giving my talks in Spanish and reaching a bigger community of Spanish speakers.
