16 Aug A Week of Traveling
I cannot believe I only have two more weeks here in Salem. The summer is going by way too fast. It’s been a lot of work but I’ve been having a lot of fun too.
A couple of weeks ago my supervisor gave me the opportunity to join a teacher workshop that is done in partnership with our park. I got to go to a couple of different cities in Massachusetts. First we went to Gloucester on Tuesday to visit the Gloucester Maritime Museum and Aquarium which is where I got to see these little guys there. On Wednesday we went to Lawrence which has the nickname “Immigrant City.” We stuck with the water theme and learned about water quality but we also got a history lesson on the textile mills.
The next day I flew to Denver for the LHIP workshop and thus began a crazy weekend. Ever since the phone interview when they told me about going to the Rocky Mountains I have been looking forward to this weekend. The views were beautiful and the people were awesome. They couldn’t have given me a better roommate for the weekend because we had so much in common. I really enjoyed hearing about everyone else’s experiences and what kind of projects they worked on.
I will miss the fun bus and everyone that was there.
It was definitely a weekend to remember.
Oh, and also – llamas.
