10 Jul 18th Century Guns are Fun?

Hey everyone! Time has passed by quickly. I hope everyone is enjoying their site and learning learning about the history of the NPS and your National Park. I want to share with you a unique experience I had during my site’s training week. I got to learn how to shoot an 18th century musket that would have been used by the colonial militia and British army during that time. I am now certified to shoot the weapon in that park for a year, and can participate in mustering programs for the park’s visitors! However, I have to let you know it is terrifying to shoot those things when they are your basically your height (I’m 5’1) and they weigh 10 lbs. As always, have fun and good luck!
